you want to keep your 08:00 business private keep it to yourself 08:01 that way it doesn't get out you can get 08:04 you can get ahead if you're willing to 08:06 take a partner if you can't get ahead in 08:08 the company you're with perhaps it's 08:10 time to move on sometimes change is good 08:12 Scorpio sometimes you got to make that 08:14 move Sagittarius problems with your 08:17 partners are apparent don't let others 08:19 build bully you into greeting and so 08:21 into agreeing with them sit back don't 08:23 let anybody bully you today said tell 08:25 them the fault you you sit back and tell 08:27 them to fall back that's what you do 08:28 Capricorn if you're uncertain of your 08:31 feelings keep your opinions to yourself 08:33 put your efforts into being creative so 08:36 should get together to bring you in 08:38 contact with intelligent friends it's 08:40 nothing like having some intelligent 08:41 friends so go out and do some little 08:43 social gathering today cap Aquarius 08:46 communication will be your best bet 08:47 don't be too open or put your faith in 08:50 unreliable coworkers agreement arguments 08:53 may flare up in your home listen don't 08:56 put your faith saying you're 09:15 make me your weight I wanna pick up a 09:18 take a fight but if you're persistent 09:19 with your affections their anger should 09:22 dissipate opportunities to get ahead or 09:23 evident now listen if my main wanna pick 09:26 a fight the day today is not the day I 09:28 know about that being affectionate I'll 09:30 be ready ready to fight somebody that's 09:32 not sure I'm just kidding I'm just 09:34 joking 09:34 so listen that's your horoscope for 09:36 today brought to you by astrology mica 09:37 thoughts and I bring you more harder 09:39 scopes on Monday when I return but right 09:41 now we have a guest in the house y'all 09:43 we have a guest in the house miss Andrea 09:45 Stephenson is our guest today she's 09:47 sitting at the table you know this is 09:48 the part of the show that I call a seat 09:50 at the table I have a person in 09:52 StudioLive sitting to the table talking 09:54 about what's going on with them now she 09:56 is a politician Andrea and I met about 09:58 probably about three years ago and I 10:00 actually worked on one of her campaigns 10:02 and I I was a part of a democratic 10:04 organization here for women so you know 10:07 I'm trying to I want it I'm going to 10:08 serve the community as best I can so I 10:10 do with this show I also do it by you 10:12 know helping out where I can where I'm 10:14 needed 10:14 um so anyway andrea has been in politics 10:18 for a long time and I'm not gonna tell 10:19 you her sir I'm gonna let you tell the 10:20 story she is a phenomenal woman a 10:22 beautiful spirit you know I went to her 10:24 house quite a few times spent some long 10:26 evenings at her house doing some things 10:28 and I I think that's why I decided I 10:30 didn't wanna go to politics after I 10:31 spent some time here I was like I don't 10:33 want to do this if I had to fight about 10:35 it come in a sentence I'm not the person 10:37 but you know people tell me all the time 10:39 I said I should do it I don't know if I 10:40 had the temperament to do it but she 10:41 does she has a caring heart a caring 10:44 spirit she's been doing this a long time 10:45 she was raised up in politics I wasn't 10:47 my mom you know my mom did monster dr. 10:49 Martin Luther King no she marched with 10:51 him and she went to jail and she had to 10:53 eat greasy grits and Camilla Georgia's 10:55 she told me that story she stayed in 10:56 jail for two weeks because she marched 10:58 her doctor my mother King and you know 11:00 that that makes me proud to know she's a 11:03 fighter even though I know my mom is a 11:04 fighter anyway that's the other side 11:06 that's why I got their little league 11:07 streak my dad was a Friday and my mother 11:08 was afraid if I got a little mini shirt 11:10 that's why I know if I make a good 11:11 politician you gotta have an even 11:13 temperament like Andrea listen so I'm 11:14 gonna start running my mouth and I'm 11:16 gonna be Miss Andrea Stephenson or she 11:17 is running for House District 104 and so 11:20 she's gonna tell you a little bit more 11:21 about who she is and how she got to be a 11:23 politician in the great state of Georgia 11:25 because she's originally from the great 11:27 state of New York y'all up north on 11:29 bricks welcome Andrea thank 11:31 you so much oil tree for having me so 11:33 listen tell my people let's let's go 11:35 back a little bit before we get into the 11:36 politics cuz I we're gonna live there 11:38 for a minute once we get there because I 11:40 know you you have a lot of things that 11:41 you want to talk about a lot of things 11:42 you're passionate about so let's let's 11:44 go back who's Andrea what would Andrea 11:47 hail from Andrea would grew up in New 11:50 York the daughter of parents who marched 11:53 and sang with Martin Luther King 11:56 I too was there on the steps of the 11:59 Lincoln Memorial when I had a dream 12:01 speech was read Wow and you know what I 12:04 remember from that standing there crying 12:06 and crying and crying because it was so 12:09 beautiful and it was so real and was so 12:11 right 12:11 how how old were you need oh I was about 12:14 12 or 13 12 or 13 years old Wow yes yeah 12:17 we went with school on a bus we had a 12:19 choice and I took that choice and I've 12:22 never regretted it and that's one of the 12:24 reasons I loved Wynette's so much 12:25 because of the diversity so having grown 12:28 up in New York and I have two masters 12:30 degrees one from Columbia University 12:32 School of Public Health I've worked in 12:35 public health my whole life and I've 12:37 also dabbled in politics I've lived in 12:41 several states and I've been very happy 12:43 here in Gwinnett and I've lived here for 12:46 over 12 years Wow nice nice my love 12:49 goodnight - I was born in Georgia I was 12:50 born in Albany shout out to my family in 12:52 Albany Georgia but I was raised in New 12:55 Jersey and when I moved here I kind of 12:57 we just kind of dropped into Gonet by 12:59 happenstance and when I got here I 13:01 didn't want to go anywhere else 13:02 Cobb County I was like I'm not going 13:04 because he works in Cobb County I feel 13:06 bad because he has a very long commute 13:08 every day but I love with it so I'm not 13:10 planning on going anywhere 13:11 so now so you say you graduated with a 13:15 master's from Columbia desk that's 13:16 pretty prestigious thank you very much 13:18 and so I know that you educated tell us 13:20 about your exes I know you're passionate 13:22 about education tell us about you still 13:24 as an educator well I I have taught and 13:27 at FAMU for seven years in public health 13:30 and community health I've I'm a biology 13:34 teacher in the state of Georgia although 13:36 I don't use that degree very often and I 13:39 also sub teach every now and then 13:41 winnette I'm very familiar with the 13:43 education here I've tutored 13:45 title one students those that speak 13:48 English and those that barely speak 13:50 English and we need more of that now you 13:55 know I'm glad you said that because we 13:58 had you know right now with everything 14:00 that's going on with immigration and and 14:02 all those things and you know you've 14:04 been able to teach these kids you know 14:06 and teach kids who can't really speak 14:08 English 14:09 what are you feeling and so now we bout 14:11 to jump into politics y'all cuz I 14:12 thought we were coming and I'm 14:14 passionate about this stuff injury and I 14:16 we watch it mess NBC I think she watches 14:19 way more than I do because you go to her 14:20 house her mom is watching it her mom is 14:22 a sweetheart 14:23 and she's sitting in front of TV she's a 14:25 die-hard MSNBC fan and I remember going 14:28 hey darling and she's so sweet you got 14:31 to see her she had on a little pick out 14:33 thinking way outfit the last time I saw 14:34 her she came to see me I was sick and 14:36 they came to my house to visit maybe 14:37 she's a beautiful woman but immigration 14:40 in let's talk about immigration for a 14:42 second I had I had a candidate on a 14:44 couple weeks ago and she told me she's 14:47 like I'm straight up Pro for the wall 14:49 and I said to her but when you see 14:52 what's happening at at the border how 14:55 could you be for something that's gonna 14:56 totally divide her divide us now that 14:59 interview got lost because we had a 15:01 technical and it was a very long 15:02 interview was an hour and 20 minutes and 15:04 we lost it I hurt hurt me to my heart 15:06 she's coming back in September or 15:07 October to to talk to us again and she 15:09 was a Republican and so she said to me 15:12 she was pro-choice for the wall you know 15:14 she felt like people come here and they 15:17 take over our jobs and you know they 15:19 take from us and I said to her honestly 15:21 there are jobs in the United States that 15:23 most people won't do so when you say 15:27 those type of things and I know you've 15:28 been you know you talk to people who are 15:31 of different nationalities what's your 15:33 feelings about where they are right now 15:34 with everything that's going on with 15:36 immigration I can tell you this I can 15:39 tell you that I think that we can do a 15:41 better job with money that they're going 15:44 to put into the wall however at the 15:47 state level for the job that I'm trying 15:49 to run for that would have nothing to do 15:52 with it we do have here in Gwinnett 15:54 County Sheriff who is 15:58 working to implement 287 yeah and it has 16:02 become a problem for some of the 16:04 residents in Gwinnett County for example 16:07 a lady that is one of my volunteers is 16:12 stopped continuously sometimes two or 16:15 three times a day 16:16 of course she does not look like a 16:19 typical white resident of Gwinnett 16:22 County it's very embarrassing it's very 16:25 upsetting it's it ruins her day her 16:28 brother who also does not look like like 16:31 I do has been brought to jail 16:35 although he's been released because 16:36 these these young people have been 16:38 raised and born in America right I think 16:44 that if they're going to go after people 16:46 they need to go after people who are 16:49 criminals right and they need to leave 16:52 regular people alone who are not doing 16:54 anything to harm anybody you know I 16:56 talked about 287 they actually did the 16:58 commissioners actually did an event I 17:00 think it was last night if I'm not 17:01 mistaken where they wanted to they 17:03 wanted to talk about the pros and cons 17:05 of 287g and I talked about this a couple 17:07 of weeks ago so 287g for those of you 17:09 don't know what it is it is a bit as a 17:12 program that our chef here has said you 17:14 know what we're gonna redo this program 17:15 again this year and what it does is give 17:17 the Sheriff's Department the opportunity 17:19 to write to actually just I don't want 17:22 to say profile but kind of you're like 17:24 profiling um to check immigrants just 17:26 you know if you look in like an 17:28 immigrant and you have the opportunity 17:29 to say hey you need to see your 17:31 paperwork and that's making a lot of 17:32 people who are different nationalities 17:35 feel really really unsafe and uneasy and 17:38 uncomfortable like you know I mean so 17:40 they actually did that that's that a 17:43 session last night at Langley over at 17:46 the Justice building on Commissioner 17:48 Molly 17:49 Marlene Foskey was one who headed that 17:51 out last night so I don't know the 17:53 outcome and I was and I didn't see 17:54 anything printed about it today but I 17:56 will find out what happened what did 17:59 they what was the what was the outcome 18:00 from that event last night and I bring 18:03 it to you on Monday if it's out there 18:04 for me to bring to you so you know under 18:07 it breaks my heart I know we have 18:09 criminals right we have criminals 18:11 data right here born here looked like 18:13 you look like me right here and I feel 18:15 like we put more and since what you said 18:18 the criminals get rid of the bad people 18:20 put them somewhere leave the good people 18:22 here and and I think that's I think they 18:25 missed it and I understand that you know 18:27 our president he said he was gonna build 18:29 a wall and that's how he won the 18:31 election with the wall and for me it's 18:33 not so much about people coming into the 18:35 country that are really bad because 18:36 drugs are coming it's not coming over 18:38 the border I don't think I've heard 18:40 anybody yet say hey we found like two 18:43 pounds of cocaine at the border no they 18:45 flew it over they flew it over in a 18:47 plane you know I'm saying so dick they 18:49 didn't pick it up at the border in a 18:51 plenty or it came over into some 18:53 avocados that's kind of crazy something 18:57 they're getting it here and it's not at 18:59 the borders it's all these other places 19:01 so now I know that you're running for 19:03 House District one on one tell our 19:04 listeners or 104 I'm sorry how you can 19:07 window forth tell I tell our listeners 19:09 what where does house district 104 what 19:11 that what it whatever does that cover 19:13 and what are your plans to to unseat the 19:16 the person that's in that seat right now 19:18 I know he has been there for quite some 19:19 time three times and I'm you ran against 19:22 them last year and you'd lost by 19:24 approximately seventeen hundred votes 19:26 that's not all that's not a lie that's 19:27 very doable so now what's your plan this 19:30 year how do you plan to make this happen 19:31 this year in 2020 first of all I'm 19:34 asking all Democrats and all 19:36 independents to come out and vote and 19:39 vote down the ballot that means voting 19:41 for every person and every resolution 19:44 that's on there if you leave it blank 19:47 then you haven't voted and there's then 19:50 you're not putting your democratic 19:52 rights to fruition the other thing is we 19:56 are Dacula Lawrenceville Bethlehem or 20:02 burn Buford and Hudson now that's a 20:05 gerrymander district if ever I saw one 20:06 and there are many many different 20:10 demographics in in my district and many 20:13 people have different priorities so for 20:16 that reason I'll be holding 20:17 meet-and-greets in various locations to 20:21 listen to what the citizens in 104 want 20:25 are concerned about and what they want 20:26 to happen in the future this is about 20:29 change and this is about bringing human 20:32 values democratic values back to 20:35 Gwinnett now for those who are listening 20:37 who don't know what gerrymandering means 20:39 can you explain to them what that means 20:41 and how that affect them as a voter the 20:45 legislature in Georgia every 10 years 20:48 gets to change where districts are 20:52 located and who is in those districts so 20:55 they can literally draw lines through 20:57 the middle of Dacula or the middle of 21:00 Lawrenceville and and they can be 21:03 squiggly lines or whatever and put more 21:06 Republicans in one district so that the 21:09 Republicans are definitely going to win 21:10 that district and less Democrats by that 21:14 they start you know just breaking things 21:16 up and it seems to me that that's quite 21:19 illegal so now how do we combat them 21:22 because I heard gerrymandering like like 21:24 over the last couple of years is 21:25 probably less since the last big 21:27 election which is the 2016 election I 21:29 heard voters rights been suppressed I've 21:32 heard gerrymandering what do we do I 21:34 know Stacey Abrams is doing a lot right 21:36 now what are we doing here in good net 21:38 to make sure that everyone who is 21:40 entitled to both have the opportunity to 21:43 cast their vote whether it be Republican 21:45 or Democrat but they have the right to 21:46 cast that vote what are we doing here in 21:49 2018 when it went blue and what was 21:53 important is we elected many people to 21:56 the house and a few to the Senate more 21:58 Democrats who are going to stop this 22:00 kind of gerrymandering and do something 22:03 that's fair and honest in 2020 it'll be 22:08 10 years and the next legislature will 22:11 determine how the lines are going to be 22:14 drawn we need 16 Democrats in all of the 22:18 state to win in the house I hope to be 22:22 one of those 16 Democrats that will stop 22:24 drawing lines that have preference for 22:28 Republicans and Republicans only so now 22:33 you know what can the citizens do I know 22:35 that when I went to go vote I 22:38 forgot what I was voting for this was 22:39 recently this earlier this year there 22:42 was a young woman she was pregnant and 22:43 she was she was she was pregnant and she 22:46 was upset because she ivote at 22:49 Cornerstone Church right there on 22:50 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville she 22:53 came there to vote they told her to come 22:55 there to vote they tell them when she 22:56 got there your name is not here see they 22:58 she had to go back to winder to vote so 23:00 she says she said she had been to three 23:02 places trying to vote what is that how 23:04 do we come back there because she was 23:05 pregnant she wanted to give up and I had 23:07 to say to her baby listen I know it's 23:09 frustrating and she was a young lady as 23:10 I know it's frustrating this is what 23:12 they want you to do they want you not to 23:14 vote that's why they're giving you all 23:16 these problems and she was like I just 23:17 left this place I'm pregnant I'm tired 23:19 and I said but you know what you gotta 23:21 fight for this it's one of those things 23:23 you have to fight for you were given a 23:24 prison to vote you need the boat so she 23:26 said okay and I don't know her we were 23:29 standing in line I saw that she was 23:30 stressed out and frustrated because she 23:32 had been trying to bull all morning and 23:34 now it was about 6:30 in the evening I 23:36 was six o'clock in the evening and she 23:37 still had not boarded because they were 23:39 sending her all around the world now 23:41 with all the crap that goes on when it 23:43 comes to our voting polls and things 23:45 like that what can we do as citizens to 23:48 make sure that stuff stop I know you're 23:50 out there fighting the good fight for it 23:51 for the right to vote and right for all 23:53 transportation and all these things what 23:55 can we do as a citizen to say you know 23:57 what we're not gonna stand for this crap 23:59 anymore we're gonna stand up and stand 24:01 for that we're gonna stand up against it 24:02 what can we do I think you should attend 24:05 I think everybody should attend the 24:06 County Election Board meetings and there 24:10 are people there that can absolutely 24:12 help you and help you find out if where 24:15 you're going to vote and we're and where 24:17 you're supposed to vote so your name may 24:21 have changed and that may prevent you 24:23 from voting unless you've changed your 24:25 name properly and you can go to the 24:27 Secretary of State's website and you can 24:29 double you know put in your social 24:31 security number all kinds of information 24:32 and they will tell you if you are still 24:35 registered to vote because some people 24:37 were were pulled off the polls we need 24:40 every one of us to respect our vote and 24:44 to do something to make it happen 24:47 and I and I know that people have been 24:50 turned out more and more to vote but 24:52 there are some young people the 24:53 Millennials they say they're not voting 24:54 as much what can we do to make those 24:56 young people say you know what I 24:58 understand why they're fighting what 25:00 what do we need to tell them to get them 25:02 on board with what we're doing I know 25:04 that the presidential election we have a 25:06 lot of folks and this 2020 election 25:08 coming down the pike but right now we're 25:10 talking about gwinnett we need the young 25:12 people unite to get out there and cast 25:14 their vote what can we say to them what 25:16 can we what can we say to entice them to 25:18 understand the importance of voting okay 25:22 well what are young people interested in 25:24 they're interested in getting their 25:25 education they're interested in 25:27 finishing their education going on to 25:29 live productive lives with with decent 25:32 wages but they're stuck with these long 25:37 debts yes to their colleges yes I think 25:41 that we should have internships galore 25:44 we should ask every business to help 25:46 these children finish paying their debts 25:49 I think we should try to get any kind of 25:54 money that we can to help them pay their 25:58 debts that I think would help I think 26:00 that would help too my daughter is you 26:03 know she has a college debt right now 26:04 and it shows up and she it's huge 26:07 it's probably about $60,000 in college 26:10 day and so you and now she's a new 26:11 mother so when you think about trying to 26:13 make a living 26:15 pay off college debt and raise a family 26:18 that's a lot for anybody and I think 26:20 that's probably one of the reason 26:21 they're turned off and like you know 26:22 what it's not helping me 26:24 so what moving forward what is something 26:26 I mean I know you said you think 26:28 businesses should help out and honestly 26:30 I talked to your god I forgot her name 26:33 but she's over at um gateway 85 and she 26:36 said to me one of the ways they do they 26:39 raise funds that all the business owners 26:41 kind of chip into this pot of money and 26:44 that makes sure that they have beautiful 26:46 sidewalks and beautiful awnings and 26:48 beautiful downtown areas I think that's 26:50 great 26:50 so it comes out of out of some kind of 26:52 budget and we did something like that 26:54 very similar for student loans that 26:56 would be great and I thought about it 26:58 even for businesses like small 26:59 businesses 27:00 if you have a losses for prime example 27:05 there are nine hundred and sixty 27:06 thousand residents right here in the 27:07 county I'm looking at nine hundred and 27:09 sixty thousand it's probably more now in 27:11 the county of GU neck can you imagine if 27:14 there was a way for them to add two 27:17 cents to their I don't know cell phone 27:19 bill that goes into a pot that's gonna 27:22 either fund the business or pay us to 27:24 the long-dead two cents it doesn't sound 27:26 like a lot but when you multiply that 27:28 times nine hundred and sixty thousand 27:30 people right and that's every month we 27:33 can get some things done and when and I 27:35 please forgive me if you're listening to 27:37 this show but I forgot her name its 27:40 gateway 85 when she was telling me this 27:41 I was I thought I thought to myself man 27:44 we should be able to do something very 27:46 similar today for small business you 27:48 know there are people out there who want 27:49 to start a small business and they can't 27:51 you know because they don't have the 27:52 funding they don't have the capital they 27:54 may have the training but they still 27:55 need the capital 27:56 you got student loan debt that's killing 27:58 people like it is some people are 27:59 committing suicide because they just 28:01 don't see a way out because of student 28:02 loan debt it's ridiculous 28:03 and you know I know that one anything 28:07 now we gotta talk about this we got to 28:10 talk about this in the next second cuz 28:11 I'm gonna go to a song but we're gonna 28:12 come back we gotta talk about health 28:15 care for all education for all those are 28:18 two hot topics right now I heard Bernie 28:20 Sanders talking about it the other day 28:22 he strongly believes in that but I heard 28:24 someone who did a who was talking 28:26 against him I think it was in the debate 28:28 in the in the debate recently and he 28:31 gave a very strong argument as to why 28:34 health care for all will not work and we 28:36 got to come back in the next segment and 28:38 talk about this so I'm gonna go to a 28:39 song and I'm gonna come back and 28:41 continue my top 100 and we're gonna talk 28:42 about its health care for all a good for 28:45 all or is it not good ball and we'll 28:48 talk about that on the other side 28:49 listen stay tuned y'all y'all it's a 28:51 good morning when Adam your host or your 28:52 bill Kearney I'm here today with at the 28:54 table with Andrea Stevenson she's 28:56 running for High Street district 104 104 28:58 right here in that County I'll be back 29:01 right after the good money when I'm 32:23 your host or kind of giving you a seat 32:25 at the table with a political candidate 32:27 Miss Andrea Stevenson she's here she's 32:29 running for House District 104 listen if 32:31 you missed any episode of the show go to 32:33 get money with Netcom and listen to all 32:35 their this show is being recorded even 32:36 though we're alive right now so if you 32:38 missed any part of this show because you 32:40 got to get back to work be sure to go 32:41 and check it out at good mornig Netcom 32:43 and listen live list also you can always 32:45 download the good morning when that apps 32:47 on your mobile phone and never miss an 32:48 episode 32:49 ain't that great so listen we got I told 32:51 you in the right before the Sun we're 32:53 gonna come back we're gonna talk about 32:55 healthcare we're gonna switch gears just 32:56 a little bit and talk about healthcare 32:57 because I know that's one of the things 32:59 that under is passionate about but I 33:01 gotta tell her I was listening to a 33:03 debate with Bernie Sanders and I forgot 33:06 the gentleman he was abating against in 33:07 Bernie's health care for all his thing 33:09 is everybody should have health care and 33:11 so the gentleman's argument was unions 33:16 have been fighting for health care 33:17 forever 33:18 and that is the one thing that that is 33:21 really important to a lot of people who 33:23 may lose their job and so they're saying 33:25 that it's unfair for those people to be 33:28 cast into a part of health care for all 33:30 when the health care the plan that's 33:33 laid out is not a great health care plan 33:34 that Bernie argument was it is a good 33:36 plan I wrote the plan what's your 33:38 thoughts on that Andrea alright well I 33:40 believe that we that health care is a 33:42 right and that you know the people that 33:45 you go to work with that your children 33:47 go to school with that you sit on the 33:49 bus with of the Train with all these 33:51 people you know are people that need 33:55 health care if you have private 33:56 insurance that's wonderful continue it 33:58 if you have union insurance that's 34:00 wonderful if you want Obamacare that's 34:02 just fine I think that we have to find 34:06 another alternative for people who do 34:08 not have health care they may be working 34:10 two or three jobs but at least and 34:12 they're keeping a roof over the head and 34:14 feeding their children but they don't if 34:17 they don't have health care how are they 34:20 going to maintain a job or continue 34:23 going to school I mean if you break a 34:25 leg what are you going to do if you 34:26 don't have health into crowd into the 34:28 emergency rooms of our hospitals 34:30 which are overcrowded already and who 34:33 winds up paying for that healthcare the 34:35 hospital because the hospital has to you 34:37 know cannot get paid back right so we 34:40 have you know it's just it's just a 34:42 right and we have to fulfill that right 34:45 whether or not we do it but the Bernie 34:47 Sanders way or we do it the Joe Biden 34:49 way I don't care we just have to make it 34:52 available for all especially in Georgia 34:54 have you driven lately down in South 34:58 West Georgia not okay well I 35:01 occasionally go down to Tallahassee to 35:04 see all friends and which they call 35:06 South Georgia and it's just very very 35:11 sad because hospitals are gone and 35:14 clinics are gone and pharmacies are gone 35:17 and people just sit on porches and 35:19 there's no industry there and people are 35:22 very sad they don't have help many of 35:24 them don't have health care at all how 35:26 are you going to function in this 35:29 society without health care I don't know 35:31 because we know so much today I mean 35:34 we're curing cancers we're treating all 35:36 kinds of illnesses people you know 35:38 children maternal mortality in this 35:42 state is the worst in the country and 35:43 this country is one of the worst in the 35:45 developed world's Wow okay so it's 35:48 measured by a hundred thousand per 35:49 hundred thousand so Georgia is has a 35:51 maternal mortality rate of forty six 35:53 point two four hundred thousand now 35:55 compare that to Canada or France 35:57 it's a which is about seven 100,000 Wow 36:00 and and in the country as a whole it's 36:03 about 25 or 26 per hundred thousand 36:05 these are 2015 figures these are in 36:08 ancient figures this is absolutely 36:10 abominable and it needs to stop you know 36:13 I gotta tell you so I was a union worker 36:15 I used to work at a hospital under a 36:18 union a union 1199 when I was in Jersey 36:20 worked there for almost nine years and 36:22 one of the things that you know we we 36:24 were thankful for was to have great 36:25 medical care and so I kind of understand 36:28 what the gentleman was saying he was 36:29 like you know I don't think that we 36:30 should take good health care a good 36:32 health care plan from someone who has 36:35 earned that through a union and given 36:37 give everybody this other plan and maybe 36:39 not 36:39 good now I do believe that we do need 36:43 some kind of a great affordable health 36:46 care plan I do believe that and I think 36:48 that's where it's falling off and I 36:49 think the problem is is that no one has 36:53 really and I'm not gonna say that 36:54 because I'm sure they have stayed up 36:55 plenty of nights trying to figure out 36:57 what's a good affordable health care 36:58 plan I think that's the issue does 37:01 everybody need health care absolutely 37:02 does everybody need the same type of 37:04 health care I wouldn't say take somebody 37:06 health care plan from them to give them 37:07 something the same across the board 37:09 that's not better than what they have 37:11 already I wouldn't say that 37:12 and I was newly worker for a very long 37:14 time at a hospital which is crazy 37:16 and like you said when I was there the 37:18 hospital that I worked at went bankrupt 37:20 it went bankrupt and shut completely 37:22 down after they built a brand new MRI 37:24 Center and a brand new parking deck 37:26 about six months later the hospital was 37:28 completely shut down and then I saw 37:30 other hospitals closing around the world 37:32 but those were dopes those people that 37:34 were working there with union workers 37:35 with great health care plans they were 37:36 able to move on to other jobs but we're 37:39 talking about people right now like 37:40 people who do not have good jobs that 37:43 have great health care plans those are 37:45 the people that need health care and so 37:46 I think that although what I understand 37:49 I understand what Bernie is trying to do 37:50 and a lot of other the politicians who 37:52 say everybody need health care I agree 37:54 but I don't think you should strip 37:56 health care from people who have a great 37:58 plan to put them on a plane everybody's 38:00 gonna be a part of now I did hear him 38:02 say stuff like and this is this is he 38:06 said he said you know Canada has health 38:08 care for everybody but if you acts a lot 38:10 of Canadians that the plan sucks so they 38:12 come in to the United States for 38:13 services now to me that's making that's 38:16 putting a strain on our health care 38:17 system if Canada has health care for 38:20 everybody but it's just not working and 38:21 then they gotta come over to the United 38:23 States to get health care that's putting 38:25 a strain on our healthcare system so I 38:26 think when it when you say health care 38:28 for everybody I agree but I think that 38:30 like you said before there needs to be a 38:31 good plan in place that will afford 38:34 people affordable health care for those 38:37 who don't do not have it okay so all 38:40 right so listen I know you have some 38:41 events coming up tell us about your 38:43 events coming up I know you got a lot of 38:45 things playing I know you know your your 38:47 goal is to to win the election this time 38:49 to representing House District 104 and 38:52 the best 38:52 possible and so you are really trying to 38:55 connect to the community that's why 38:56 you're here today 38:57 I'm helping you connect to the community 38:59 in a very different way for you I know 39:01 that but how can they connect you in 39:03 person not because I know you're gonna 39:04 be on location talking to people about 39:07 what you're gonna be doing for the 39:09 district well first I'd like to invite 39:11 everybody to visit because 40:36 he's doing fantastic things I really 40:39 would like to talk with our citizens 40:42 find out what's going on find out what 40:45 their what what they need to be done in 40:47 the legislature in Georgia so that we 40:49 can really make things happen so that we 40:51 can bring in more jobs who would have 40:54 ever thought by the way that that we 40:56 would be surpassing Hollywood and movie 40:57 in the introduction yeah well guess what 40:59 we can do the same thing with green jobs 41:01 yeah we can do the same thing with 41:03 electric vehicle 41:05 week we have so many talents here in 41:09 Gwinnett County we can absolutely get 41:13 everybody to work everybody get can get 41:16 health care and we can spread out all 41:19 this throughout the state so that 41:20 everybody is equal and everybody gets to 41:24 live the American dream when that is 41:27 doing a lot I can tell you that you know 41:29 that's why I do this show one of the 41:31 things I'm really have 41:42 a that's an electric car which is great 41:45 so they got a lot of things coming out 41:46 of Peachtree Corners which is also 41:47 right-hand good net county 41:48 now when you say green jobs what what 41:51 are the opportunities out there for 41:52 green jobs I know Amazon is bringing 41:54 thousands of jobs they're not green 41:55 there are other companies that's 41:57 bringing
