The Collective PAC Endorses District 3 Commissioner Candidate. Gwinnett County, GA – Derrick J. Wilson, candidate for County Commissioner District 3, welcomes the endorsement of the Collective PAC today. “I am truly grateful to receive the endorsement of the Collective PAC because I share their commitment to diversify the advocates representing our communities,” said Wilson. “At a time when racial tension is high across the nation, this is when it is most important to have representatives from all races, cultures, and backgrounds, to bring their perspectives to the table to find solutions to bring our communities back together.”
“Our focus is to ensure our nation upholds its ideals and promises of a truly representative democracy by increasing the number of African Americans in public office at all levels,” says Chris Scott, Director of Campaigns - The Collective PAC. “Derrick Wilson is a clear choice for Gwinnett County Commissioner. He is a unifier with a broad and inclusive agenda. He has shown leadership and integrity through his efforts to garner resources for the underprivileged through his school drives and his community service during this pandemic. As County Commissioner, we believe Derrick will seek the solutions that benefit all of the citizens within his district and county-wide.” Wilson is one of several candidates that were endorsed by the Collective PAC during this campaign cycle. He faces Jasper Watkins III for the Democratic nomination in the runoff election on August 11th. For more information, visit: http://www.wilson4gwinnett.com.

I had an amazing time on Saturday broadcasting live from The Get Connected Parents Expo in Snellville hosted by therapist Monica Douglas Davis. The idea for the expo was to bring awareness to mental health and depression by introducing the community to people and resources that could help those who may be in need of the services. Although mental health is a serious matter, the event had some fun elements in it as well. There was music, face painting for the kids, a book bag drive and Zumba. I got a chance to talk to some of the vendors there and in this episode I talk to Karen Everett who is a part of the new hit reality show The Family Chantelle. Karen talks about how she was able to come up out of a rabbit hole now she is on a national TV show. Check out this episode for the full story.
