When I started Good Morning Gwinnett is was a way for me to be a contributor to my community. I love what I do so much that I want to put most of my focus on the show and making it better. Towards the end of 2020 I decided that I wanted to grow the show into a brand. I knew the next step in that evolution was to incorporate video. Now I'm not a stranger to video, but I must admit that I have become spoiled not having to worry about if my hair is done or bother putting on makeup.
I realized that if I wanted to scale the way I envisioned I was going to have to start live-streaming. So, Monday I went live for the show for the first time. I gotta tell you that I was a little bit afraid and don't ask me why, because I don't really know. When I woke up I thought to myself, that I will wait and not go live today and just start tomorrow, but something in my head said, "No" you're going to start today and I said okay and I went live. After the episode was over, I felt so proud of myself. I had worked all weekend setting up my video player to run video ads during the song break and making sure that I and the music could be heard on each device. Everything worked fine, but I still almost did not go live on Monday. After doing so I felt so empowered. I'm looking forward to scaling the business now. I've a video player that plays ads during the songs. The show is live streamed on Facebook and Roku. I will be adding more live stream platforms starting next week one of which is YouTube. This is an exciting time for me and Good Morning Gwinnett. I also got an offer from The Hype Magazine to produce my Thursday person where I will be interviewing locals in their studios which is super high tech taking the show to another whole level. So things are moving in the direction of my desire and I am looking forward to see what will unfold next.

Last Friday I had the opportunity be interviewed on DealCasters hosted by Jim Fuhs & Chris Stone. This wasn't your typical interview. It was an Amazon Live interview. Now I know you might thinking what the heck is Amazon live and I can tell you it is amazing. So Chris and Jim used StreamYard to bring me into their show to talk about Alexa and how I'm using it to build my podcast brand for Good Morning Gwinnett. They both asked me questions on this Amazon live feed, but what was amazing about this was that it was all done live from the Amazon website. The next amazing thing about this interview was that they put my books in the carousel from the Amazon book store and asked me questions about the reason I had written the books. This was cool. I felt like I was on Home Shopping Network promoting my products. People who were watching the show and there were 1800 people watching live, could just click on my books and purchase them. Man I was so supped up about this interview and the amazing things Amazon is doing in the live streaming industry. Having the capability to go live and sell my books right from the live stream is so cutting edge. I can't wait to see what Amazon rolls out next in this space. I added a link of the replay from the live stream for you to take a look. Watch The Amazon Live Replay Below |
