Educating Your Customer Could Be The Key To Growing Your Business

I was talking to my daughter on Friday about her new business that she has just launched.  The name of the business is Crowns By Dolly. www.CrownsByDolly.com.  My daughter calls herself a "Wigologist" which is someone who is an expert in wig making and wig fittings.

The black hair industry is on fire and I was telling her that she has to do something that would make her stand out in such a crowed space.  For starters she already has a really cool company name and the title wigologist is great, but she needs a little something else.  So I suggested that she gave a hair class on understanding the different types of hair that can and should be used when a woman wants to get a custom wig made.  I'm not in the hair industry like most people and whenever I need to get something done to my hair the first person I call is my daughter to ask questions.  I explained to her that most people don't know what hair they should be buying if they are planning on getting a custom wig done, and if she educated them about this she would surely gain some clients.  Why?  Because she is creating trust among her potential new clients and they want to make sure that when they are ready to get their wig done, that they are making the best possible choices for the hair that will be used to make their wig.

See what I've learned is that when you educate your potential customer you will convert some of them into paying customers.  This has happen to me on so many occasions.  I spoke at a conference last October and I walked away with 7 customers and a joint venture.  I did a 30 minute talk at this event and it was powerful.  I educated my audience about why they should have their own branded channels on Roku & Fire Stick and those who realized that they wanted to create more exposure for their business became my clients.

So what can you educate your potential client about?  Instead of trying to sell them something I suggest that you educate them first and let your knowledge and expertise convert them into new paying customers.

I hope that this little tip help you move your business just a little bit further down the path to success.

Until Next Time
Make It A Great Day!
